“FOLLOW ME”

Jesus went every town and village. May be 3 circuits over three years.

He healed the sick. He cast out demons. He made disciples. If we are not making disciples we are not doing the great commission task.

OUR PRIMARY OBLIGATION

The command: Vs.19. Make you fishers of men or Make disciples.

Mark 16:15. Preach to all creation. Luke 24:47. Acts 1:8.

The primary reason why FBCR exist is for making disciples of all nations. This is our God given priority. As disciples of Jesus Christ we all need to make disciples that make disciples. One church is not going to do. It is the cooperation. collaboration of the entire body of Christ.

INCREASING INTIMACY WITH THE FATHER is important.

We need to grow up. We all need to grow up in to the adolescent stage.

Apostle Paul in 1 Tim 4:7. Discipline/or train yourself up to godliness.

Christian discipline helps us to focus on the right thing.

Every christian should persue intimacy with Christ.

Where do we need to discipline ourselves in the godliness?

LOOKING AT THE LIFE OF JESUS-MODEL OF JESUS WITH THE FATHER

Mark 1:35.

Early morning Jesus went away to a desolate place - Praying there.

Began his day with prayer and ended with prayer.

Began his mission with prayer. (etc).

He spent all night in prayer.

Eremos: desert place/solitary place.

After a long engaging in the ministry involvement Jesus was awake early in the morning. Replenishing the spiritual life. We see him going out without food, rest, and sleep.

Matthew 14. He heard that John the Baptist had been beheaded Jesus withdrew to a desert place to be in prayer.34-36. He wasn’t frustrated and angry.

Vs.22-23 SILENCE AND SOLITUDE OF JESUS

Face to face/calls/emails.

We all have the ministry of interruption.

Jesus spend time with the father. He dismissed the crowd. He climbed the mountain. He spent time with the father.

AW TOZER: Faith beyond reason.

“Doing doing doing but no solitude with the father.” There are things that you and I never learn with other people with us.

I am not saying that turn people away. We don’t turn people away.

Mark 6:53 LSB

And when they had crossed over they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.

Mooring with Jesus is important.

We need to stay long enough in the solitary place so that He can speak into our lives. Luke 4:1-2.

Jesus was full of the Spirit. Going into the wilderness. Led by the Spirit.

Vs. 37.

Jesus’ capacity was depleted.

Jesus need to be restored, revived, renewed, and refreshed.

Luke 5:16 LSB

But He Himself would often slip away to the desolate regions and pray.

Shut out all the distractions from our life. All the white noises from our life need to be shut out in order to hear the still small voice of God.

FINAL THOUGHT

If you don’t take long time to be alone with God you cannot gain godliness.

Alone with God: should be a routine. Increase the time. The more time you give to this. You redeem the time God give to you. The more time I give to this the more time God gives back to me. None of us wants to hear/spend the time with Jesus.

It is an important appointment of Your day. Alone with God is so important. You never loose this time. You rather gain this time.
